From the 17th -29th of September our foundation course took us on a trip to the Eden project in Cornwall. overall I found Eden to be quite a remarkable place as they manage to create foreign environments under two domes in an unexpected location in the middle of Cornwall. walking around the project I really admired all the different exotic plants that were grown with an array of different colours. It was very easy to find inspiration for art being surround by such a variety of foreign culture. I preferred the rainforest over the Mediterranean biomes (bio domes). The Mediterranean was still interesting in itself and had amazing structures and patterns all over it; I was physically more comfortable in there (as the rainforest was very humid and hot). The rainforest made me feel slightly more transported into a whole other country. It felt more exotic with the huge variety of different plants and towering waterfalls. I also talked to various people whilst I was there and asked them about their views on the Eden project and also photographed a couple who were one of the people I spoke to. “I found the rainforest biome very interesting. it’s not just the plants, but you also get a lot of information about how important it is to preserve nature”. I asked peoples opinions on whether they think that the biomes are more environmentally friendly than the original quarry. “better biodiversity – better than the quarry”.

• sweet, harsh, potent, – smell
• rough, smooth, rigid, – touch
• sprayed with water and wind from waterfall
• humid and hot
