Because my second painting took up so much of my time and focus I realised that I was lacking in smaller studies and working in different mediums. I also wanted to create a series of work as most of the other pieces I have done have been singular.
I chose to use different textures, colours and materials. I used tissue paper, thin paper and normal paper. What I found the most interesting to look at was the tissue paper I like the aspect of fragility to it. My concept is all about the times in our lives or, our life as a whole and I liked how it related to my concept as life is fragile and we often forget that. When printing on dark paper in general the yellow wouldn’t be as vibrant as I want it to be so I started to experiment and use white against the light parts so that the yellow would be vibrant. This turned out really well, and brought so much more into the prints.
