Somerset house

7th of September

After Tate we went to see Somerset house. I found it to be a very enjoyable exhibition with interactive art everywhere. One part of the exhibition which I found interesting was a smelling room. The artist dangled what looked almost like lamp shades from the ceiling. When you stood underneath them you would be able to smell something such as a citrus scent and the you would only be able to experience the smells under the lamps. All of them had their own individual smells so it was fun to experience and figure out how it works.

There were lots of different good qualities at Somerset and the work there was extremely varied. It went from working with mould and fungus in art, chairs made out of clothes, looking at textiles to interactive installations. I thought that the overall experience in Somerset was good because of the diversity as it made your mind wonder in how you could use ideas in your own work with subjects that you would have never of thought of.
